Andreas Fahnert Todesursache Santiano is a German band from northern Schleswig-Holstein that sings mostly seemännische themes in their songs. During this time, the band mingles and combines many musical genres such as Folk, Pop, Rock, and Schlager; she also reinvents traditional folk songs, sea shanties, and other musicians’ hits. “The market for this wonderful medium is changing so quickly that I’m not sure if there will be room for a band like us in the future,” you write in your new book. So, what exactly do you mean? Stosberg: Since the beginning, we’ve been a more analogue, haptic band, both on and off the stage. This is also true for the media outlets where our albums are available. Since a while, more CD-Abteilungs have closed, and the download market has slumped as a result of the rise of streaming. This format feels quite sterile to many of our fans, as well as to us.
