Andreas Fahnert Todesursache Santiano is a German band from northern Schleswig-Holstein that sings mostly seemännische themes in their songs. During this time, the band mingles and combines many musical genres such as Folk, Pop, Rock, and Schlager; she also reinvents traditional folk songs, sea shanties, and other musicians’ hits. Santiano was named the finest group in the Sparte volkstümliche Musik four times by Echo Pop.
The band’s name is derived from the same-named song by French singer Hugues Onray from , which is based on the traditional English Shanty O Santianna – as well as Santiano and other scribblings.The band’s debut album, Bis to the End of the World, was released on We Love Music, a collaboration label of Universal Music and ProSiebenSat., on February. It peaked at number one in the German album charts. In the same year, the band went on a tour across several German-speaking cities, including a stop at the Wacken Open Air. In November documenting their tour was released.
the album Mit den Gezeiten was followed by the single-release Gott muss ein Seemann. Both the album and the single debuted in the charts. It was followed by the With the Times Tour, which ran through Germany, Switzerland, and Austria from the band has also established an open-air concert series in the summer, with two concerts held each year in May at the Kalkbergstadion Bad Segeberg. Axel Stosberg: The joy has not yet reached an end on a scala that extends upward. That is undeniably true. Was haben wir alle für awe-inspirierende Momente erlebt. “The market for this wonderful medium is changing so quickly that I’m not sure if there will be room for a band like us in the future,” you write in your new book. So, what exactly do you mean? Stosberg: Since the beginning, we’ve been a more analogue, haptic band, both on and off the stage. This is also true for the media outlets where our albums are available. Since a while, more CD-Abteilungs have closed, and the download market has slumped as a result of the rise of streaming. This format feels quite sterile to many of our fans, as well as to us.

Stosberg: It’s unavoidable. Many things in Santiano’s private life have been cut short as a result of his high expectations, demands, and desires in recent years.
